NCCA-compliant credentialing software

CredFlow is a credential lifecycle management platform engineered around the requirements certification programs must meet to earn and keep NCCA accreditation. It is software that helps your program meet those Standards - immutable audit logs, 7-year retention, randomized audits, appeals, and governance separation - not an accreditor itself. CredFlow is built by Electric Software LLC and is SOC 2 compliant.

Who NCCA accreditation is for

NCCA accreditation is granted by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies to professional certification programs that certify individuals - not to vendors or software. If you run a certifying board, a licensing body, or a certifying organization and you want third-party recognition that your program is rigorous, fair, and well-governed, NCCA accreditation is the benchmark most U.S. certification programs pursue.

The work of meeting that benchmark is largely operational: you have to run a defensible program and document that you ran it. That is exactly where the right software earns its keep.

What the NCCA Standards expect of a program

Without quoting specific clause numbers, the NCCA Standards consistently emphasize a handful of themes that every accredited program has to demonstrate:

  • Psychometric rigor in the exam. Defensible eligibility, scoring, and pass/fail decisions tied to a sound assessment.
  • Governance separation. The certification decision-making must be insulated from training, education, or commercial influence.
  • Documented audit trails. Decisions and changes need to be traceable, with evidence retained long enough to survive a review cycle.
  • A fair appeals and complaints process. Candidates and certificants must have a documented path to challenge decisions.
  • Continuing competence. Recertification has to verify that holders stay current, not just pay a renewal fee.

How CredFlow maps to those needs

CredFlow runs the full lifecycle - application → eligibility review → exam → certification → continuing education → renewal - and every stage is configurable per credential type while every transition is automated and audit-logged.

Immutable audit trails and retention

Every action is written to an append-only audit log capturing actor, timestamp, and before/after state, retained for 7 years. When an accreditation reviewer asks “who changed this eligibility decision, and when?” you have a documented answer rather than a reconstruction.

Governance and access separation

Role-based access (applicant, candidate, diplomate, staff, admin, and higher tiers) lets you separate who reviews applications, who issues certifications, and who administers the program - supporting the independence the Standards expect. Multi-org isolation with Postgres row-level security keeps multiple credentials or organizations cleanly separated in one tenant.

Audits, anomaly detection, and continuing competence

CredFlow supports randomized audit selection of continuing-education submissions and anomaly detection, so your recertification process actively verifies continued competence. CE/CM rules, point thresholds, and renewal windows are configurable per credential.

Appeals and ethics complaints

A built-in ethics-complaint and appeals workflow gives candidates and certificants a structured, documented due-process path, with the full decision trail captured for review evidence.

An honest note on what “NCCA software” means

CredFlow is not NCCA accredited - software cannot be. Any vendor claiming their product is “NCCA accredited” is misusing the term. What CredFlow does is give your program the operational backbone and evidence trail to pursue and maintain your accreditation with far less manual record-keeping.

Migrating an existing program

Implementations typically take 8-16 weeks with a dedicated implementation manager, and data migration from spreadsheets, custom portals, Salesforce-based setups, and legacy platforms is included. Pricing is tailored to your program; book a demo or email manage@electric.software to discuss the right model.
